FAQs
Looking for real estate photography? We work across Mangawhai, Waipu, and Bream Bay, as well as Kaipara, Whangarei and north Auckland, providing professional photography, video, and marketing content for property listings. This FAQ covers everything you need to know about booking, preparation, and getting the best results from your shoot.
How long will it take to get my photos or video?
We will share the photos with you on the day after the shoot. We aim to provide an edited video within 2-4 working days. If you have a fixed date you need to get online, please mention to us when booking or during shooting so we can make sure we accommodate this.
What happens if it rains on shooting day?
We can postpone a shoot without charge if the weather makes shooting impossible. We will always make properties look bright and airy, and add a blue sky, regardless of the shooting conditions on the day, so the weather doesn’t need to disrupt your plans.
Do you offer twilight photography and video?
Twilight photography can be a great option to draw attention to your listing. It works especially well for properties with modern lighting, and with outdoor features such as fireplace or swimming. We also offer twilight videography, and day-dusk transitions in videos - a great way to capture and hold attention. Our Day-dusk cine package combines a standard video package with twilight photos and video.
Do we work with private sellers?
Yes we do! We provide the same services to private sellers, we can also offer marketing packages such as social media or standalone websites at no extra charge.
Are there advantages working with a local photographer?
We understand the local market, and know how to present properties to highlight features such as indoor-outdoor flow, make interiors look bright and airy, as well as features such as gardens, or highlight proximity to the coast. Working locally we can also offer flexibility around shooting your property at the right time, to maximize sunlight in key living areas and the facade.
How can I book?
You can book directly via our booking portal, with a live calendar so you can lock in your preferred time. You can also book via email, call us directly, or send us an SMS.
If we need to postpone a shoot, what happens then?
At Property Lens we believe your listings should always look their best - so if the lawns aren’t mowed or contractors still need to finish - we can delay shoots without any charge. We can also move shoots if the weather won’t play ball - especially for listings with all-important sea views. The only time we would charge a fee is if the photographer attends the property to carry out the shoot and without any prior communication the shoot is cancelled.
Does professional real estate photography make a difference?
High quality photos can make a huge impact on your campaign to get buyers through your open homes or private viewings. Additionally, a video can help buyers make the right decision, for example buyers who are out of town may be more
Do you charge travel fees?
We don’t charge travel fees in our core service areas - Mangawhai, Mangawhai Heads, Waipu, the rest of Bream Bay, Maungaturoto, and Wellsford. We charge $25 for travel beyond 25km from our home base ($50 beyond 50km, etc), but we also can waive or reduce travel fees for video bookings - get in touch to learn more.
What is the difference between real estate and AirBnB photography?
Real estate photography generally aims to ‘show the space’ to prospective buyers, with the aim of getting them to inspect the property in person. Our AirBnB photography aims to ‘capture a mood’, with details that will encourage guests to book with you. AirBnB photography also requires additional photos, of details such as a games area or coffee station that helps give an accurate impression to guests ahead of booking. For that reason an AirBnB shoot usually require additional images to a real estate shoot.
Do you offer drone photography and video?
Yes — we provide professional drone photography and video as an option for all of our shoots, except in few small cases where drone flights are not permitted (e.g. adjacent to an airport). Drone imagery is particularly effective for showcasing coastal homes, lifestyle blocks, and properties with unique surroundings, such as those in Mangawhai, Waipu, and across Bream Bay.
